Destin’s Flounder Pounder tournament presented by HarborWalk Village is a month-long event beginning November 1st – November 30th with daily weigh-ins and cash prizes. The tournament provides anglers with a unique fishing experience and excellent payout.

Flounder Pounder Tournament Rules 2017

  • HarborWalk Marina’s Flounder Tournament is open to all anglers.
  • Tournament headquarters is at HarborWalk Marina, in Destin, FL for registration, weigh-ins, awards, and information.
  • The entry fee shall be $50 per person (+ tax & applicable fees). All entries must abide by all Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission rules. *Registration fee is non-refundable*
  • Participants must register on the calendar day prior to catching and weighing eligible entries.
  • The tournament will start at 7:30am November 1st and end November 30th at 4:30pm. Competitors will be able to weigh fish daily at HarborWalk Marina from 7:30am-4:30pm. *Weigh station closes at 4:30pm*
  • Each angler will be allowed to weigh a maximum of two fish per day. It is the responsibility of the angler to determine which two fish will be weighed.
  • Fish must be weighed the same day it is caught at the weigh station at HarborWalk Marina. NOTE: Fish caught after the weigh station closes will be accepted for weight the next calendar date provided there is proof of the date/time fish was caught EXCEPT on Super Saturdays. *Weigh station closes at 4:30pm*
  • No Flounder with a total length (measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail) of less than 13 inches will be accepted. Please remember the future of our fisheries and carefully release any flounder not to be entered in the tournament.
  • All flounder must be caught on hook and line. Flounder must be netted. *No ‘gaff’ marks at all*
  • All flounder entered will be subject to the scrutiny and inspection of the rules committee/weigh masters. Flounder must not be mutilated in any way, except hook punctures. Mutilations is defined as any damage that impairs the fish’s fighting ability.
  • Any entry deemed irregular or questionable will be grounds for disqualification of that entry. Considerations include but are not limited to: fish condition, mutilation/gaff marks, or being frozen. All decisions are final. Weigh masters reserve the right to refuse any fish. *Registration fee is not refundable if fish is deemed ineligible by weigh masters, no exceptions*
  • The winning flounder will be determined by the weight. In the event of a tie, the first flounder weighed will be the winner.
  • Tournament purse:
    • 1st place will receive 50% of all money received from entry fees
    • 2nd place will receive 30% of all money received from entry fees
    • 3rd place will receive 20% of all money received from entry fees.; less tournament fees
  • No competitor shall receive more than one prize.

 

Flounder Pounder Tournament Super Saturdays

 

  • The heaviest fish will earn participant $50 CASH (equivalent to refund of tournament fee!) 
  • Free photos will be taken with your catch.
  • Events and live music in HarborWalk Village.

Super Saturday Rules

  • Super Saturday entries are subject to all Flounder Pounder tournament rules including, but not limited to:
    • Fish must be weighed in by a registered tournament participant on any Saturday during the tournament who must have registered on the calendar day prior to weighing fish entered the Super Saturday division.
    • Fish must be weighed in on same day fish was caught – NO EXCEPTIONS
    • Each angler will be allowed to weigh a maximum of two fish per day. It is the responsibility of the angler to determine which two fish will be weighed.
    • Competitors will be able to weigh fish daily at HarborWalk Marina from 7:30am-4:30pm. *Weigh station closes at 4:30pm*
  • Winning fish for the day will be determined by heaviest weight, regardless of declared category, against other fish weighed in on same Saturday.
  • The heaviest fish will earn one participant a $50 CASH PRIZE – equivalent to refund of tournament fee!
